Crowns And Bridges

  • Crowns And Bridges

A crown is a dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth. A crown is usually recommended if a tooth is weakened by a large cavity or fracture, or where the longevity of a filling may be questionable. A crown usually take 2 visits to make. At the first visit the tooth to be crowned is prepared and an impression taken which is sent to the dental laboratory. At the next visit the crown is tried and fitted.

A bridge is a dental restoration which is used to replace a missing tooth by adjoining permanently to adjacent teeth. The procedure for a bridge is similar to that of a crown. Crowns and bridges can be made of porcelain, metal or a combination of both. At dentist and Osteopath on the hill we use the finest materials and laboratories to ensure that we achieve the best results for our patients.
